  • Rebecca Lander - Eden Primary Care Network iCAT
    Rebecca qualified as a PA in the US and has vast experience working across many countries and specialities. She works on the iCAT team, across the Eden PCN GP practices performing patient clinical assessments and co-ordinating appropriate care with the individual practice clinical teams.
     
  • Lori Verey - Lakes Medical Practice Penrith
    Lori qualified as a PA in 2008 and has worked in primary care and secondary care.  She has worked at the Lakes Medical Practice for 5 years now. She is also involved with PA student supervision and works as a PA Ambassador.  To contact her directly email lori.verey@nhs.net
     
  • Kia Nicholson- Fellview Practice, Whitehaven
    Kia qualified from UCLAN in 2021.  Originally from Whitehaven she is delighted to continue working in the area.  She started working at Fellview in January and is enrolled on the Preceptorship scheme.  Her work currently focuses on acute on the day face to face cases with some telephone triage.  She also has particular interests in Mental Health and Women’s Health which she hopes to build on in the future.
     
  • Stephanie Kelly – Workington primary care centre
    Stephanie qualified from UCLAN this year and started her induction at Workington last month.  She will work alongside a multidisciplinary team and will focus on acute on the day patient assessments initially.
     
  • Kinza Ali - Lowther Medical Practice
    Until recently Kinza worked at Lowther Practice doing a split preceptorship across primary and secondary care at West Cumberland hospital.  If you’d like to hear more about split preceptorships. Please contact advancedpractice.ne@hee.nhs.uk

Support for employing a PA in primary care:

  • Physician Associates are included in the Additional roles funding scheme.
     
  • HEE North East and North Cumbria Preceptorships - Financial funding and provision of weekly GP led teaching.  In addition to ARRS, preceptorship funding is available to Practices and PCNS employing a newly qualified PA (within their first 2 years of practice) or PA new to working in primary care.
