Birbeck Medical Group held a special Men’s Health Day on Saturday 10 January 2026 – a proactive and positive step in supporting men’s health locally. The Penrith based practice invited men to attend for health checks focusing on key risk factors such as heart attacks and strokes, while also providing a space to discuss other health concerns.

Men are statistically less likely to visit their GP regularly, which means that opportunities like this are especially valuable. By creating a dedicated day, the practice helps make important health conversations easier, more approachable, and part of routine care.

This event demonstrates how local services can work together to promote health and wellbeing in a supportive, welcoming environment. Initiatives like this not only encourage men to take care of themselves but also highlight the wider network of support available across Cumbria.
