With Strictly Come Dancing back on our screens, we couldn't resist borrowing one of its most recognisable numbers for a recent social media campaign.
But rather than giving out sevens for a dance routine, our “Seven” Pharmacy First campaign was highlighting seven common conditions that participating community pharmacies can assess, advise on and treat through the NHS Pharmacy First service.
For people living across the North Cumbria area, Pharmacy First can provide another option for accessing healthcare for a number of common conditions.
Seven conditions your pharmacy may be able to help with
Participating pharmacies can provide assessment, advice and treatment for:
Sore throat – ages 5+
Earache – ages 1–17
Urinary tract infections – women aged 16–64
Sinusitis – ages 12+
Impetigo – ages 1+
Infected insect bites – ages 1+
Shingles – ages 18+
For many people, this means they may not need to see a GP for these particular conditions, with assessment and treatment available from a participating community pharmacy.
Pharmacy First is part of the wider range of services available through primary care in North Cumbria, alongside general practice, dentistry, optometry and other local healthcare services.
So, if one of these conditions is bothering you, it may be worth checking whether your local participating pharmacy can help.
You don't even need to wait for the judges' scores. Find out more about Pharmacy First now.
More information is available on our 'Magnificently Useful Seven' pages, including the conditions it covers and how your local pharmacy can help here.
