Commencing 1st September, a 1-ton military field gun will be pulled over 1,000 miles from John O’Groats to Land’s End – powered by over 1,300 serving personnel, veterans, and supporters. This is the Field Gun Pull 2025, in support of the Military vs Cancer charity they have been inviting companies across the Northwest to become part of this extraordinary challenge.

You can help them by spreading the word, sharing the story, and helping them connect us with veterans, families, and local networks who may want to get involved. You can follow them on social media here: Facebook

They are also offering sponsorship opportunities on key legs of the journey, along with the chance for any veterans within workforces to take part in pulling the gun. It’s an unforgettable experience, rich with pride, purpose, and national visibility.

Together, we’ll move mountains – one mile at a time.

Event Breakdown...

The Challenge

Commencing 01 September 2025, we will take on a task worthy of those who have come before us. We will pull a 1-ton field gun from John O’Groats to Land’s End—over 1000 miles of grit, endurance, and sheer determination. We take on this journey because it is hard—because it represents the hardship, the battle, and the heartache that cancer brings to so many lives. This is our opportunity to stand together, to fight together, and to make a difference.

Why We Need You

This is where you come in. We need your strength and your resolve to achieve this incredible mission together, so we need you to help pull the gun and provide support.

We have already secured key logistical elements—including Babcock International for 3 x support vehicles, Forces Mutual for insurance, PRG Trailers for gun transport and Chevron Traffic Management for a welfare van & driver —we are looking for support in the following areas:

  • People to pull the gun
  • Drivers for the support vehicles
  • Safety numbers
  • Sponsorship

Please see attached route and details of how people can have a seeded heart with their loved one’s names carried in the gun carriage and have their loved one’s name added to the crew t-shirts.

How to Get Involved

Just as teams of the past worked together to achieve the impossible, so too will we, join us, be part of history. Let’s achieve the seemingly impossible together to make life more possible for those affected by cancer. Thank you.
